Supplementary Paratransit Services
If you are eligible for East Bay Paratransit (EBP), but live outside of EBP’s service area or need transportation beyond EBP’s operating hours, City of Alameda Paratransit offers taxi services that may help you. You may also be eligible if you need transportation for critical medical appointments (e.g. chemotherapy, radiation, dialysis) during EBP's 21-day certification period. These services are provided at no charge by the City of Alameda's transportation provider, which operates both sedans and lift-equipped vans.

Eligibility requirements: Must be East Bay Paratransit-certified or have an application pending review.

Cost: Free.

Please contact Mastick Senior Center at (510) 747-7506 for additional information.

Medical Return Trip Improvement Program
If you are EBP-certified, you are eligible to register for Medical Return Trip Improvement Program (MRTIP). MRTIP provides free taxi trips when returning from medical appointments, thereby eliminating the uncertainty of coordinating return trips with EBP. Once you have registered with the program and received your trip vouchers, contact the City of Alameda's transportation provider after your medical appointment for a free ride home.

Eligibility requirements: Must be East Bay Paratransit-certified.

Cost: MRTIP Travel Vouchers are free upon request.

Please contact Mastick Senior Center at (510) 747-7506 for details.

Premium Taxi Service
Premium Taxi Service provides a 50% discount for taxi rides with the City of Alameda's transportation provider. The service is not limited to medical trips. Eligible riders must purchase the required discount coupons in advance. However, to make the program fair to all users, you may purchase a maximum number of 5 coupons per quarter (every 3 months).

Eligibility requirements: Must be East Bay Paratransit-certified, 75 years of age or older, or 70 years of age or older without a driver’s license.

Cost: Each travel coupon has a $5 value and costs $2.50. If the cost of a trip cannot be covered exactly with one or more $5 coupons, you may either give the driver an additional coupon or cash to pay the additional cost. However, if you use a coupon, drivers cannot provide you with change. You must present travel coupons with a completed Travel Information Form to the taxi driver upon arrival at your requested destination.

Please contact Mastick Senior Center at (510) 747-7506 for more information. You can also download an application form on our registration page.

East Bay Paratransit Tickets
If you are EBP-certified, you may receive up to two free EBP coupon books by redeeming your annual City of Alameda Paratransit mailer at Mastick Senior Center.

Eligibility requirements: Must be East Bay Paratransit-certified at the time the mailer is sent.

Cost: Available only once per year through the City of Alameda Paratransit annual mailer.
